JPEG, PNG, or WebP

Flipping an image — mirroring it left-to-right or top-to-bottom — comes up more often than you'd expect: a selfie that reads backwards because of how a front-facing camera captures it, a scanned page fed into a scanner upside down or reversed, or artwork that needs to be mirrored before printing on certain transfer materials. This tool gives you two independent toggles, horizontal and vertical, so you can combine them however you need — turning both on produces the same effect as a full 180° rotation. Every change updates the preview instantly, so you can see exactly what you're getting before downloading. The whole operation runs locally via the Canvas API; your photo is never uploaded to a server.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between flip and rotate?

Rotating turns the whole image around a center point, like spinning a photo. Flipping mirrors it across an axis instead — a horizontal flip swaps left and right, a vertical flip swaps top and bottom, without any turning.

Can I flip both horizontally and vertically at once?

Yes — the two toggles are independent, so turning both on produces the same result as rotating the image 180°.

Why would I need to flip a photo?

Common reasons include correcting a mirrored selfie from a front-facing camera, fixing a scanned document that was fed in backwards, or preparing artwork/text that needs to read correctly after printing on certain materials.
