Common Rejection Reasons

A standard rectangular passport-style photo (like SSC's 200×230px) is rejected outright — NDA requires a minimum 350×350px square photo.

How to Resize in 3 Steps

1

Upload a photo, or capture one directly with your camera.

2

Fine-tune the KB target and any enhancements you need.

3

Download your correctly sized, ready-to-upload file.

NDA & NA follows UPSC's OTR (One Time Registration) portal, which enforces a distinctive square photo format — minimum 350×350px up to 1000×1000px — unlike the rectangular passport-style photo most other exams use. Uploading a standard 200×230px SSC-style photo is a common and completely avoidable rejection reason here. NDA also requires three identical signatures stacked vertically, one below the other, on a single white sheet in black ink — not a single signature like most exams. Since NDA leads to an SSB interview, keep your uploaded photo genuinely representative of your current appearance.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my photo get rejected even though it looks fine?

UPSC OTR requires a minimum 350×350 pixel square photo. A standard rectangular passport-style photo (like SSC's 200×230px) will be rejected regardless of file size.
